WORKSHOP: READY FOR YOUR CLOSEUP
Are you an actor with a passion for movies and a desire to star in them?
Are you between the ages of 14 and 17?
Are you ready for your closeup?
"Ready for your Closeup" is a weekend workshop being hosted by Valley Wind Productions to teach young actors how to shine when the cameras are rolling and the director yells "ACTION".
Taking place on July 10th and 11th, the workshop breaks into the study of monologues on the first day followed by scene work with a partner on the second. Students will work on assigned sides (script pages), see their performances on screen, and learn from both the intructor as well as watching their peers work.
Students will learn how to behave in front of the camera, break down a script, and develop a character from Ottawa actor, Jennifer Barnes. They'll then get to apply some of what they've learned when they perform a simulated audition.

DETAILS -
FOR: Young Actors, Age 14-17. All experience levels welcome. (Including none.)
INSTRUCTOR: Long-time Ottawa-Actor, Jennifer Barnes, known for quickly being able to find the emotional core of a scene. She has countless roles on stage and on camera and is alumnus from courses put on by SIFT and numerous others.
DATE/TIME: July 10th (10:00am until 5:00pm) and July 11th (10:00am until 4:00pm). 30 minutes for lunch, each day.
LOCATION: Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Avenue. Bus Accesible by 95.
COST: $160. Compare at upwards of $400 for other workshops offering similar instruction.
