You love movies. You love the stage. You're passionate about being part of that magic. So many pieces coming together to create something so much more. Bringing productions to life is what drives you. It's who you are. It's exactly what we're looking for.
All of our current volunteer positions are listed below. To apply, send us your resume and tell us a bit about your background and who you are. If we think you're a match for us, we'll set up a meeting and talk more. Especially if your goals match ours, we want to meet you.
Crew Positions [Various Productions]: One thing we're always on the look out for is dedicated people to round out our crews. We're equally interested in hearing from people with a specific discipline (audio/camera/etc) who want to put their skills to work as well as from people interested in PA-style work to gain on-set experience. We're also interested in people who want to work in a production capacity off set, helping organize and getting things done.
All positions have flexible schedules (on-set work is generally confined to weekends) and are open to all experience levels. [PAs need no experience at all. Only a desire to get involved in the movies and a good attitude.]
Post-Production [Various Productions]: Once the movie's shot, the job is only 2/3rds done. We have open opportunities for people with skill and experience in audio post (SFX/foley/adr/etc) as well as VFX artistry. We will also accept aplications for assistant editor positions from people who want to get involved in post production but have little or no prior experience.
Again, positions have flexible schedules.
Production Ottawa: Production Ottawa is being et up as an online database of all production activities going on in Ottawa as well as those that went on in the past. We're looking for one or more people to help populate the database with this production information. This "work-at-home" position would entail getting in touch with local producers and making them aware of Production Ottawa as well as gathering and entering information on their productions.
This opportunity would be especially suited for students looking for practical, flexible work in the production industry and anybody looking to network with people already working in the industry. Co-op and placements are welcome. Beneficial skills include: being detail oriented, good at taking notes and filtering through information, basic copywriting (grammar/spelling), formatting information, and mild technical proficiency.
