Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays of whichever brand you choose to celebrate. No matter the name, it’s a great season and the entire family at Valley Wind Productions hopes your holidays are filled to the rim with awesome.

And the Petrov’s, they’re in the spirit too:

Eight pretty unique, pretty psychotic characters inhabit the Petrov home. Not one cares whether you live and would, in fact, prefer that you didn’t.

Here are some updated posters and fun background info to give you a refresher.

PA: The Petrov family patriarch. (Video bio.)
Likes: His axe.
Dislikes: You.

Where last I left us, we were trapped in an abandoned creepy house with a crowbar wielding crazy, a hungry zombie, and an attention-starved girl in a closet that wasn’t really a closet. Then came the blood…

(If you missed how we got to that point, read this first.)

The next question, obviously, was how do we take this innocent, child-like figure and make her more creepy? Blood, naturally. We went into the make-up bag, pulled out the stage blood (it’s edible, you know) and applied liberally to her hands and arms. Then Danielle played the piano – because shots of blood covered hands playing the piano are cool, too.

There was blood on her hands as she played Moonlight Sonata.

Now that we had Gorgeous George, a freaky girl from the closet, and a zomebie-esque character played by Kyla Gray (that would eventually morph into the character of Sally), we were getting someplace interesting. Musical interlude out of the way, the next plan was to shoot a short little movie about a dude who comes into the house and deals with these characters. The idea was do the whole thing in one shot, partially in 1st person POV.

Only, what fun is three characters when you can have five.

Canadian Thanksgiving was this weekend past so Happy Thanksgiving to Canadian readers.

For us @ Valley Wind, we’re thankful for all those who have worked with us these past two and a half years to make our productions possible. We and they know who they are. Personally, I’m also really thankful to have the new valleywind.com launched.

While it was Tuesday this year, October 12th was Thanksgiving Monday in 2009. It was also the third and final shooting day for Survive the House. Happy anniversary to us.
A creepy brick farmhouse in Carleton Place.
We’ll be talking about Survive the House here on the blog a lot over the next couple of weeks as we approach another Halloween. We’ll post a bunch of new content and hopefully get everybody involved in bringing new people over to survivethehouse.com and challenging them to Survive the House.

However since I don’t think we talked about it much before, I thought to start with the story of Survive the House’s conception for those who don’t know it.
