Been a bit remiss in keeping these Windcasts posted to the website but if you missed any (or if this is your first and you want to check out more from this wacky crew) the full playlist is linked below the video.

In this Windcast, the Windcasters offer up a sequel to last years popular “6 Ways You’re Blowing Your Audition“. This time they’ve got 10 new tips but personally, I think they might be a bit obvious.

Our visit to Wonderland with a new Alice won’t happen until later in 2012 but we couldn’t wait to give you a bit of a peak into what you can expect so we put together this seven-minute long teaser-style prologue.

This is how it starts.

Called “Prelude to Wonderland” the prologue picks after a major incident in Wonderland and brings you right up to the point where Legend of the Looking Glass starts. It will introduce you to the major players of the movie and give you the set-up for where things are going. Break out the popcorn, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Watch the video and tell us what you think.

Does that clear things up? Windcast is our new sketch video show. One specifically geared to the world of online video, playing with all of it’s particular quirks. It’s a collaborative affair from the ground up with the team working together to write and produce content as it comes up. New videos will go online every other week with each video being totally different from the one before.

Check out the word find.

Time once again for Fringe in Ottawa (ottawafringe.com) so get out there and take in a show or three between June 16 and June 26. And if I might recommend, here’s where you can see some members of the Valley Wind Community during the festival:

So our 2011 Auditions kick off on Saturday. Given that, I thought it would be worthwhile to think back to the auditions of years past and put together a list — both of pitfalls actors should avoid and tips to help them get even further ahead. As always, this is just from my  experience so your mileage may vary.

Now, since we are in the business of making videos we put together a special edition of Windcast to kick things off.

Case you missed it, we started a new podcast to give you the lowdown on that latest Hollywood blockbusters hitting theatres. The idea is simple, review the movie briefly (we know how busy you are), then let you know if you should see it. Siskel and Ebert popularized two thumbs up, we’re all about Yay, see it, or Nay, don’t.

In most cases, our reviews will go up before the movie even hits the screen to help you make a decision going into that ever important opening weekend. Our first review was The Green Hornet:

LET US TREAT YOU TO A MOVIE

Valley Wind Productions opened its proverbial doors in January 2008. Unlike other filmmakers who set out to make a movie, get it done, then move onto the next (sooner or later), we set out to build something a little deeper. Saying we had a five year “plan” would be generous so let’s instead say that there were targets set for that five year mark and it’s been a continuous game of adapting to whatever came along, balancing between individual projects and the good of the whole, in order to try and stay on mark.  Three years in, it’s a good time to recap what we’ve done, where we are, and where we’re going.

I’m going to break it into three posts – basically past, present, and future – over three days. Each post will be just about a thousand words to save both you and me. Let’s get started:

Wherein the sun rises.

In 2008, there were a couple of goals in mind, all starting with: [Read more...]

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays of whichever brand you choose to celebrate. No matter the name, it’s a great season and the entire family at Valley Wind Productions hopes your holidays are filled to the rim with awesome.

And the Petrov’s, they’re in the spirit too:

Legend of Oz, Battle between the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch.

All right Oz (and Valley Wind) community, we’ve got a job to do. We need to Help Michelle Smile Again. Here’s the story:

The date was September 20, 2009. Twas the last day of shooting on Legend of Oz that year.

It was a showdown between our two remaining witches after Dot’s arrival in Oz kills Ester. We were shooting the fight for the Silver Crescent between Colleen Sutton’s Locasta, and Michelle Leblanc’s Wester. [The Crescent is a weapon of great power.]

What happened was… well, this video can explain better than I can.
